Monkey See, Monkey Do

Just as the movie Natural Born Killers encouraged youth to kill, it now turns out that Mr. Sicko was inspired by a violent South Korean film featured at Cannes film festival (2003).

A free society depends on moral restraint by those in the mass media. http://www.aim.org/aim_column_print/5399_0_3_0/

By filling the airwaves with violence and debauchery they erode the moral fiber. Just as Mr. Sicko was inspired by the actions at Columbine (which the media exploited to the hilt) admirers are already coming out of the woodwork in defense of his pitiful tirade.

laceType w:st="on">Mt.laceType> laceName w:st="on">SickolaceName>’s basic beef was that he was right; it was the rest of the world that is wrong. I am as much an ardent supporter of the First Amendment as I am of the second. Just as with any right though, responsible action by the citizen is inherent. I condemn any person who uses firearms for the purposes of vandalism or fires in an unsafe direction; I condemn the Major Media for their lack of a moral compass. It would have been far more responsible to focus on the victims and to limit coverage.

Missed by most people was the story in Japan of the murder of the mayor of Nagasaki. He was shot with a handgun by a criminal, in a society that is as close to a police state as I would ever care to get. That didn’t stop him from obtaining a firearm just as laws haven’t prevented criminals from obtaining guns in Russia, Mexico, England, Australia (both surrounded by ocean) and numerous other countries. “Progressives” seem to always want to avoid any responsibility for their own actions. Reese Witherspoon obtained stardom by being in an extremely violent movie. She didn’t seem to feel any complicity though when she spoke at the Million Mom Farce. Hollywood of all places has no right to complain or comment about violence in our society. They are the purveyors of violence.

I have long believed that one of many motivations for said individuals to promote gun control is their own suppressed guilt. Incidentally, did you know that one of the promoters of the Million Mom Farce is in prison for murder?  Another was prosecuted for violation of firearms laws. Copy cats are already using this incident for their own twisted end.

Why did this sort of thing only start occurring in the 1960’s? I have my own suspected reasons. How about you? Ultimately, it is we the public who are ultimately to blame. We are all like the rubber neck-ers driving by an accident. http://abcnews.go.com/Business/print?id=3057457

We all share a weird voyeuristic tendency and seek simple feel good answers to complex societal issues. No one wants to take responsibility for what we have created. We would rather blame someone else. I detest most politicians. Few ever show signs of having any real principles. Just as Al Gore was pro gun when he represented Tennessee, he became anti-gun when Vice President. Rudy G. was very anti gun when he was major of New York. Now that he is running for president he seems to have discovered the Second Amendment. Barack just hours after the shootings at VT made a speech where not only did he show an appalling lack of basic understanding of firearms but used this tragedy to bring up Dom Imus, Globalism and other liberal grievances. As long as the American Public allow themselves to be manipulated by jingoism and ignorance of the issues things will only get worse.

Peace
