            Citizen’s approval of Congress is at about 17% according to numerous polls. Yet it is the American people who are truly to blame. If we insisted on moral leaders and representatives we would get them. It is very important to stay informed. Unfortunately this is made more difficult by a biases press. In today’s HJ (10/25/06) an article by the Robertses is a case in point. While I agree with most of their conclusions, their attack on Curt Weldon is I believe unprincipled and uninformed. Rep. Weldon was the only congressman to reveal the Able Danger program. For that and other reasons he has been targeted by the Democratic and Soro’s machine for defeat. It does not surprise me that they fail to see the political motivations regarding the recent FBI raid on his daughter’s homes and place of business. Their argument that since the FBI is controlled by a Republican administration and is therefore incapable of acting in a political manner against a Republican, is naïve at best and I think makes their judgment on other matter equally suspect.

            Rep. Weldon has made many enemies on Capitol Hill. That is because he has consistently done the right thing. That is why he has been targeted. This article explains it all.

Of course the Robertses are blind to that because they serve the system. During the Clinton years an NIE report was produced which denied any need for a missile defense. Rep. Weldon almost single-handedly insisted that this estimate was politically motivated and demanded an investigation. Of course he was later proved right but that made enemies in the Clinton Admin. He has stepped on other toes as well. If he is defeated the message to other congressman will be clear. Do not do anything controversial or cause problems. You will pay if you do. Sandy Berger has played a principle role in raising funds for Rep. Weldon’s political opponent. Bill and Hillary Clinton have made speeches and raised funds as well. What sickens me is how so much of the press including the more conservative press has done little to defend Weldon. Power corrupts and the amount of corruption in Washington is unbelievable. If the American people do not soon wake up we will all pay, big time, from this.

            The Pentagon has been allowed to cover up this whole program and Congress has not held their feet to the fire for it. With America’s enemies in the Middle East, China. Russia and South America growing stronger every day can we afford to go back to business as usual?
