A CALL TO ACTION!

Personal Responsibility

There are certain incontrovertible facts which leftists seem to be unable to grasp. The greatest of these is there is no less efficient organization than government. People manage to ignore the reams of evidence that much of our tax dollars are wasted or support non-effective groups like the Department of Agriculture or Commerce, etc. They often ignore evidence that problems like education cannot be solved by throwing more money at them. I have yet to see any evidence whatsoever that giving our schools more money would improve test scores or learning. Another lesson which seems to have escaped them is the law of unintended consequences or simple things like cause and effect. Many if not most of our social ills can be directly traced to the rise of things like radical feminism and the Great Society programs of LBJ. These programs and movements have been devastating on the nuclear family, particularly on the black family.

There is no single greater factor on predicting living in poverty than being a single mother (especially having a baby out of wedlock as a teenager). Another is dropping out of high school. Yet they invariably fail to analyze the causes of poverty and demand that we throw more money on failed and bankrupt policies. The moral rot which is eating at the foundations of our society is ignored. Guilt baiting and circular arguments are the order of the day. Whenever one identifies with any given group (like the Democratic or Republican parties) it can blind you to any piece of information which doesn’t fit in with the agenda being promoted by that group. So why do we insist on identifying with a given group. It is probably a genetic driven behavior for survival purposes. We haven’t evolved nearly as much as a species as we would like to think from the days when we lived in caves. Of course there is an equally dangerous trend which has become quite popular in leftist circles and that is to not identify with any group whatsoever. This is equally bankrupt. The refusal to defend commonly held beliefs which have been learned through experience, by countless previous generations, is as great or greater threat than adopting viewpoints because the group that you identify with believes them.

Actually leftists do identify with groups, just not white male conservative groups like the founding fathers or Pappy Boyington. He was the leader of what became known as the Black Sheep squadron in the Pacific theatre during WW II. Recently a monument was proposed for him at his Alma Matter but was rejected by a leftist student council which stated that there were already plenty of monuments for dead white males. If you think about it leftists within our educational systems have tremendous power. They shape the thinking and beliefs of our lawyers, teachers and journalists to name just a few. I do not know what the solution is to such a problem without endangering free speech and academic thought. I do know that this cancer is eating at our foundations relentlessly and only disorder and collapse will result.

Peace
