Fools Paradise

            I am absolutely astounded by the incredible amount of denial that many Americans engage in. The Major Media have just about everyone convinced that the former Iraqi government and Al Qaeda did not cooperate on terrorist operations. Despite mounds of evidence they still continue with there same tired song (i.e. Iraq was a secular government; they would never cooperate with Al Qaeda). Fairly recent information from captured Iraqi government files which have been released indicates otherwise. In those files is evidence that Iraq trained approximately 8,000 foreign terrorists during the four months leading up to our invasion. Evidence also was uncovered which proves that Iraqi Intelligence was supporting terrorists in the Philippines. At least two years ago I watched a Frontline episode which was filmed with American forces as they entered Bagdad. Several Iraqi civilians excitedly told the soldiers about a terrorist training house in their neighborhood. In that very large house were tons of explosives, threaded aluminum tubes (obviously intended for pipe bombs), an imported chemical sniffer similar to ones used at US airports and manuals for the type of metal detectors used at airports as well. Gee, what could these have been used for?

            Saddam has a huge ego. He fancied himself the new Saladin of the Arab world. But according to many, after his defeat in the first gulf war, in which he was thoroughly humiliated, he just rolled over and played dead. The lefts hatred of George Bush is truly remarkable. It seems to cause amnesia as well. They seem to forget that numerous Democrats both in Congress and the Clinton Whitehouse warned repeatedly about the threat of Iraq. Now those same elements do everything in their power to undermine our war effort, simply for political gain. And a large number of Americans fall for this.

            Several experts believe that Al Qaeda already has obtained one or more nuclear weapons. Bin Laden has certainly threatened to use them on us. I guess it will take the vaporization of New York or Washington before these people might admit that there is a actual threat posed from the Middle East, but I wouldn’t bet even on that. In about two weeks I am going to submit a letter to the editor of the Herald Journal regarding the pinheads who contend that 9/11 was engineered by the Bush Whitehouse to further their evil agenda. All it takes is about two seconds to think of a number of reasons why this could not have happened. But when has reality ever played a role with the leftist agenda?
